Education and Learning, and Facility Hire Suite
The existing Jubilee Room and The Music Rooms has been developed into extremely flexible spaces enabling a differing number of uses for education and learning activities, and facility hire for small conferences and special events. A service lift has been installed in the Eastern stairwell of the building and connects the ground floor kitchen to a reheat kitchen on the second floor adjoining these two spectacular rooms. A storage space has also been developed. Doors have been installed to enable these areas to be isolated when necessary.

The events taking place in these spaces will be varied, ranging from lecture and lunch events to workshops and meetings. They would also be used for facility hire. Income from this source has become an important revenue stream for the Museum and there is further potential. As with all revenue generated by the Museum, monies raised this way directly support the operating costs of the Museum. The Museum has a number of rooms licensed for weddings and other civil ceremonies; being able to service these types of events with an extensive catering will be key to further growth in this area.
