Buckle

A bronze buckle, like some from the late 7th century found in Germanic cemeteries in the Rhineland. It looks to have once been silvered, and there are 3 studs decorating the belt plate. On the back of the plate are attachments for the belt. The belt plate is approximately 5cm x 5.5cm, the buckle is 7.5cm long, and approximately 4.25cm wide. This is part of the original Bowes Collection.
